Simple Tips To Live Better, Feel Better, Be Better
Socrates said, “The unexamined life isn’t worth living.”
Let’s face it, the world around us moves faster and faster by the day. You can choose to either get caught up in the rat race or you can choose to pace yourself according to your own goals and desires. It can be a rather difficult thing to achieve, but start by thinking of ways to take control.
At some point in our lives we have all faced trials and tribulations. Fortunately, we are not judged by our trials and tribulations, nor how we react during them, but by what we learn, and how we are shaped by them.
Sometimes it is hardship that causes the learning, and sometimes it is extreme fortune that results in growth. However it happens, personal development is the key to leading a successful, happy and fulfilling life.
Test your beliefs. It is not enough to have a set of beliefs to live by. Test them, research them, question them. Look for the real truth.
Whether you are spiritual, religious, or atheist, look for a higher force that can offer you guidance as you think about yourself, your identity, and your goals. Your higher power need not be a specific deity. The collective writings and stories of mankind can serve as a good example of something that is larger than yourself. You may find that exploring scriptures, literature, or proverbs can help you recreate yourself.
Technology and the internet have made it easier than ever to research ideas and trends in no time at all. The process to help yourself improve and grow in life is not an easy one.
It’s good to do something for yourself that creates a challenge and a productive result. For example, a great idea is to learn a second language. It may sound daunting at first, but start slow and see where it takes you. Classes are taught at most community colleges, and home programs utilizing video are also available. Did you know that sign language is now accepted as a second language? Learning a language can be fun and also a new way to communicate with others.
“Can’t” should not be in your vocabulary. Take it out now. Any time you think you “can’t” do something, try to come up with five reasons why you can’t, and then remember YES YOU CAN!! It might take longer in the beginning to get used to this idea, but in the end, you will wonder why you ever thought you couldn’t!
